Viral DoorDash order sees man receive 200 nuggets instead of 20

This is surely the happiest accident of all time.

We’ve all rifled through a box of nuggets only to find we could easily have eaten another fistful, so imagine the sheer joy you’d feel upon opening a 20-nugget order only to find you’ve actually got 200.

That’s exactly what happened when a man made an honest mistake on his McDonald’s DoorDash order.

Sharing the happiest of meals on TikTok under @lynn_j_goat, Jessica explained how a simple mistake led to the biggest of nugget windfalls.

With 11.3 million views since it was posted in January 2024, it’s fair to say the nugget motherload caused quite the stir online.

The video shows a countertop that’s groaning on its joints under the weight of all those nuggets, with a very amused family no doubt itching to pile in.

Despite posting the clip in 2024, Jessica explained that the video was actually recorded in 2017.

“Number one, it was an accident, my husband ordered McDonalds when we lived in California in 2017,” she explained.

“We had my parents fly in because I had my son and we lived out there, they came every year for a few weeks.

“They came and we ordered McDonalds through Doordash,”

“My husband was obviously doing the DoorDash order and we all just wanted burgers. Three burgers and then two orders of 10 piece nuggets.

“My husband went on the DoorDash app and instead of hitting the 10x, ten nuggets, he put the quantity in as X20.”

The family didn’t tear through the whole lot. Once they’d had their fill, they went out into the community and gave out the remainder to homeless people.

Commenters took a break from salivating over the haul to note that they couldn’t believe the order price had gone unnoticed before delivery.

“That's a beautiful story,” began one comment. “Also this is how you know you're not doing too bad in life, when you can accidentally order 200 dollars or so of food and be ok. My bank account would freak out.”

“I'm so glad you were able to feed the homeless with warm, fresh food and even extra sauces!” said another. “I bet that was such a great thing for your son to have witnessed.”

Another added: “I love that you fed the hungry it was a happy mistake hungry people were fed on your husbands silly goof up lol.”

It must be particularly difficult to remember to be generous when you’ve eaten your body weight in nuggets. Kudos to that family.
