Britain’s obsession with sweet treats has reached fever pitch as thousands have been pictured flocking to a newly opened froyo emporium in central London. The chain’s launch comes years after fans started to ‘beg’ bosses to set up an outpost in the UK.
It’s a good time to have a sweet tooth, what with gingerbread and white chocolate cookies being back at Marks & Spencers; McDonald’s rebranding its classic McCafe Sugar Donut for Overwatch players; Greggs launching the Bonfire Toffee Muffin; and a viral bakery selling Taiyaki, pandan cake, and fresh pastries rapidly expanding.
Prefer your indulgences frozen? There’s a business that is brand-new to the UK, serving up mouthwatering frozen yoghurt, and it’s already taking the capital by storm.
Some customers have actually been waiting up to five hours just to get inside, as per reports.
Yo-Chi has opened in London

Anyone who has been on FoodTok this last week is probably already aware, but Australian froyo franchise Yo-Chi has arrived in Britain.
The first spot, situated on Notting Hill Gate, is a minimalist, two-floor haven with various self-serve frozen yoghurt machines in nine flavours such as mango, strawberry cream, classic vanilla, and the OG signature tart.
Once you trundle your way through the queue, the idea is you head into the Yo-Chi store, grab a container and fill it with your favourite flavours.
After you’re satisfied with the amount of froyo, customers are guided over to the Yo-Chi topping zone, where everything from decadent chocolate chunk cookie cake to biscoff spread, mango-flavoured mochi, and raspberry coulis can be found.
The first-ever London Yo-Chi, which spans more than 2,000 sq ft, offers more than 30 toppings, including the ability for customers to utilise its Nutella fountain.
Speaking during the brand’s opening weekend, Oliver Allis, co-owner and Chief Brand Officer at Yo-Chi, said that the only reason the Aussie-born company moved across the pond was the thousands of messages from UK fans begging them to set up shop in Britain.
“The opening was bonkers! The energy in the venue today was the most we’ve ever felt… the love that the UK has shown us has blown us away and we’re honestly so grateful.
“We are so happy to bring a new positive, inclusive, non-alcohol hangout spot for all ages, and even happier that Londoners feel the same way.
“Big shoutout to the team for keeping the Chi alive amongst all the chaos, absolute legends.
“And also to the Notting Hill community, thanks for welcoming us with open arms, we can’t wait to meet you all.”
Social media reacts to Yo-Chi opening

Social media has been celebrating Yo-Chi’s launch, with one Instagram user writing: “OBSESSED best meal of my life x.”
“My girl dinner,” replied someone else.
A third added: “Just found out there’s a store in London! I NEED TO GO and experience this place.”
Another commented: “Yummm can’t wait to try!!”
Go Greek is also open in the capital
If you’re not willing to wait in the queue, fear not; another cult-favourite froyo shop just opened its doors in London recently.
Los Angeles’ Go Greek opened a 620-square-foot site on South Molton Street in June featuring self-service frozen yoghurt machines and indoor and outdoor seating.
House flavours include plain tart, chocolate and greek honey, but sometimes hazelnut, pineapple, white chocolate, and mango will be available in store.
