British football fans are up in arms after the price of a pint during England’s emphatic 4-2 win over Croatia in Dallas was revealed online.

On Wednesday (17 January), Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and Marcus Rashford all opened their accounts at the FIFA Men’s World Cup 2026, sliding goals past Fenerbahçe’s Dominik Livaković.

The Croatian, who is currently on loan at Dinamo Zagreb, was bested by the Three Lions captain in the 12th minute with a retaken penalty, and again in the 42nd.

Real Madrid’s Bellingham made it three in the 47th minute, while super sub Rashford added a fourth and final to England’s tally.

The Group L game was hosted at the Dallas Stadium (AT&T Stadium) in Arlington, where WWE commentator Wade Barrett, Cowboys legends Emmitt Smith and Dez Bryant, and thousands of fans soaked up the atmosphere.

Ahead of Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup opener, fans were debating drink prices, with one calling them ‘f**king shocking’.

The reveal came amid the Netherlands and Japan’s 2-2 draw at the venue, with journalist James Olley sharing a snap of the food and drink offerings via X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Prices inside the AT&T Stadium in Dallas. Netherlands v Japan here today, England v Croatia on Wednesday,” he wrote.

The board priced a 16-oz vessel of ‘American Beer’ at $15.95, which is around £12.05 here in Britain.

A craft beverage or an imported beer was priced $1 higher at $16.95 (£12.81) while a fizzy drink set fans back by $8.50 (£6.42).

Other drink options included: a 20-oz bottle of water for $8.25, or £6.24, and a same-size sports drink for $8.50 (£6.43).

Social media users have been quick to slam prices at the stadium, with one writing: “F**king shocking, but not really shocking.”

“Seen worse but water at $8.25 is criminal,” someone else argued.

Another said: “If not one person buys anything they’ll get the message . You won’t so they won’t.”

Others have claimed that the venue prices are in line with what NFL and MLS fans are paying on the regular, with one typing: “Actually close to normal price for international tournaments.”

“It's mental but also normal over there - went to a couple of gigs in LA and San Fransisco earlier in year and $20 for a sh**e beer,” a second alleged.

A third added: “Seems alright tbf. A bit high but what you would expect attending a sporting event.”

The Dallas Stadium is set to host three more group games before the tournament is done: Argentina vs Austria (22 June), Japan vs Sweden (25 June), and Jordan vs Argentina (27 June).

The venue will then be used for two Round of 32 games on 30 June and 3 July; a Round of 16 bout on 6 July, and a semi final on 14 July.

The LADbible Group has previously contacted the AT&T Stadium for comment.

Menus from the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where England beat New Zealand 1-0, were uploaded online during the game.

It saw premium pints and cups of ‘hard tea’ priced at $18 (£13.60) with ultra premium double cocktails costing $26.50 (£20.03) for a hit.

There was also uproar online during the England-Costa Rica game, with the camera catching punters eating and sitting at tables pitchside.

Fans and critics alike were quick to criticise the Inter&Co Stadium set-up with one typing: "WAIT, THEY HAVE DINNER TABLES IN THE FRONT ROW. USA WORLD CUP IS A JOKE.”

Food and drink prices at the World Cup

Unlike in the UK, football fans are allowed to drink in the stands in the US, Canada and Mexico - if they’re made of money, that is

For England’s second game at the Boston Stadium (also known as the Gillette Stadium) on 23 June, hot dogs are going for £6.30, while burgers will set you back £10.45, according to Football 2026.

Meanwhile, a basic meal and a beer at the MetLife stadium for England’s match against Panama on 27 June will cost you £24.87.

TSA issues ranch warning

The TSA has also issued a warning to Brits discovering Ranch at football games for the first time, reminding them to adhere to liquid standards when flying.

On 12 June, agents reminded flyers that if their ‘carry-on checklist’ featured: ‘Ranch (3.4oz or less), snacks, and Ranch for the snacks’ then they were ‘good to go’.

“If you’re visiting for a very large sporting event & you happen to discover RANCH while you’re here… pls pack it in your CHECKED BAG on the way home,” another message shared via Instagram Threads read.

“OK please avoid chugging your ranch outside secruity the airlines will check it for you,” a third dip-centric post warned.
