Having won a US presidential campaign against Joe Biden and, latterly, Kamala Harris, Donald Trump became the US’s oldest president to be sworn-in when he took office for his second term.
Joe Biden was 78 years and 61 days old when he was sworn-in back in 2021, with Donald Trump exceeding that at 78 years and 220 days.
Despite his advancing years, Trump’s diet still smacks of a much younger man.
Famously a big fan of McDonald’s – with recent images showing him sharing a Maccies with Elon Musk on Air Force One – he’s also no stranger to a glass of Diet Coke.

Trump is also famously teetotal, with his brother Fred Trump Jr having died of an alcoholism-related heart attack in 1981, but more than makes up for it with a massive appreciation for sugar-free Coke.
Craig Brockie, author of Ultimate Health, tweeted a summary of Trump’s diet and routine.
According to Brockie, Trump sleeps for ‘4-5 hours a night’ and ‘drinks 12 Diet Cokes a day’.
“And somehow [he] still has more energy than 99% of people I know and lost 30 pounds,” he wrote on X.
When you’ve got the most stressful job on Earth, indulging in some creature comforts is fair enough.
A 2017 New York Times profile detailed Trump’s ‘hour-by-hour battle for self-preservation’, saying:
“Watching cable, he shares thoughts with anyone in the room, even the household staff he summons via a button for lunch or for one of the dozen Diet Cokes he consumes each day,” it said.
The volume of Diet Coke has drawn plenty of shock on social media.
“12 DIET COKES A DAY?” said one comment.
“12 Diet Cokes a day is crazy af,” said another.
A third said: “12 Diet Cokes at 78 years old...”
Former White House chef Andre Rush, who served Trump during his first time in office along with Bill Clinton, George W Bush, and Barack Obama, confirmed the rumours of the Diet Coke button.

Rush said: “He’s always been on his soda trip. That’s all he drinks, 24/7. He’s been living off it and says, ‘It hasn’t hurt me yet.’
“But that’s a cliché we all go through until it hurts you.”
He added: “He gets so much flack about the unhealthy side of him. He does try to eat healthy, but people don’t get to see that part of it.
"They just see the part that we want to show on social media. I mean, Bill Clinton ate just as many burgers as Donald Trump did.
