Fizzy drink enthusiasts are being indulged this year, with Pepsi Co. announcing a surprise flavour comeback, and now Coca-Cola is following suit.

Last month, social media users were excited to discover that Pepsi Max Tropical was being rolled out across the UK alongside a can design overhaul.

Coca-Cola also had its moment in the spotlight, announcing that Diet Cherry Coke was being revived after a successful trial period in 2025.

In the last few months, the beverage titan has also put Coke Lime on shelves, and now there’s another flavour heading to your local supermarket.

The new can is inspired by a retro US favourite and will also be available to buy in 1.75L bottles.

Without further ado, introducing the latest Coca-Cola flavour: Cherry Float.

Inspired by ice cream floats - which are said to have been invented in the late 1870s in Philadelphia - the new Coca-Cola variant consists of ‘smooth creamy vanilla notes’ that create a ‘familiar, yet new profile’.

“Cherry flavours continue to be a fan favourite, and the introduction of Cherry Float across both original and zero sugar variants gives consumers even more choice within the Coca-Cola Cherry range,” reasoned Ellie D’Silva, senior marketing manager at Coca-Cola Great Britain.

“Inspired by the nostalgic taste of classic soda floats, the new flavour reflects our continued focus on innovation while offering fans new ways to enjoy the iconic Coca-Cola taste.”

The blast-from-the-past comes in full sugar and zero sugar options, and is crafted without dairy, meaning it’ll seamlessly slide into into lactose-free diets.

What's more, it features a vintage ice cream float illustration that will be presented across grocery store shelves in Britain, Canada, and the United States.

It appears that some fans have already got their hands on the nostalgic cans, with one taking to social media to write: “Coke Zero cherry float is unbelievably good.”

“This Cherry Float flavoured Coke is 10/10 delicious,” replied someone else.

Over on Instagram, another fan said: “Cherry float cokes sounds good and fonce once it’s FULL SUGAR! woo!”

“What next... bringing back chocolate Coke like they had in the malt shops back in the 50s?,” someone else prophesied.

Following the introduction of Cherry Coke Float, there are now numerous tart-inspired Coca-Cola products on the market.

Coca-Cola is the number one soft drinks brand in GB, cherry flavours have contributed more than half of cola segment growth over the last year, and soda floats are bang on trend right now. It’s a winning combination, and we’ve got some high-profile marketing activity lined up to help retailers make the most of it.”
