Capri-Sun launches giant 15-inch pouch with poignant reason behind it

Pagan rituals meet lunchbox classics.

A nice, refreshing drink is one of the best things to get us through the hot summer months, when we're constantly on the lookout for our next hit.

However, we're approaching the longest day of the year, which sadly means it's all downhill from there.

Thankfully, Capri-Sun has found a way to celebrate the occasion to make us all feel better about the looming autumn, and it's doing so with a particularly go-hard-or-go-home mentality.

If you’ve allowed your Capri-Sun fandom to fade into the rear-view mirror like your hopes for the future and your hairline, then now’s the time to rekindle that old flame.

To celebrate the US' summer solstice on 20 June, Capri-Sun is launching a limited edition whopper of a pouch. Sadly it seems the 15-inch, 20-ounce pouch (591ml) will only be available in the US, so sadly we Brits can only dream of such hydration.

Anyone who’s had a Capri-Sun will know those bad boys don’t last too long, especially at just 6-ounces (177ml), so it almost seems cruel that the world hasn’t been treated to a massive Capri-Sun before.

But the day has finally arrived… provided you’re in the US, of course.

“It’s a juice box and a flotation device at the same time,” said one Instagram comment, although presumably Capri-Sun wouldn’t endorse using one as a life-saving aid unless, of course, you’re dying of thirst.

The pouches are available to US customers at Walmart for a limited time, and have been stocked there since June 16th. The massive pouches cost just $1.50, which is a bargain for half a litre of flavoured water.

As with the Capri-Suns, the jokes are coming thick and fast on social media.

“Capri-Sun da loooonnnng wayyy!” said another Instagrammer.

“Caprigalaxy,” said another. There really is no limit to how massive these things could get if we start talking about other Capri celestial bodies.

For us in the UK, we’ll just have to make do with water which, you might say, is the better option. As temperatures here are set to soar even higher as we enter a heatwave, we can only hope the Capri-Sun Gods forgive us for our sins and send one of those mighty pouches down from the heavens.
