An unlikely city has been branded as the best budget-friendly European city break based on food and drink costs, and a coke could set you back more than a beer.
Brits are looking for budget-friendly getaways more than ever before, as the cost-of-living crisis continues to soar.
And while some opt for UK staycations, which can add up at the best of times, others are looking towards an unlikely European city.
It's been named the 'best value' for food and drink out of all other European city breaks, and you can grab yourself a beer for as little as £1.93.
A 175ml glass of wine will cost you the same, but a coke, bizarrely, is set around £2.19.

According to research from Post Office Travel Money, which compared 38 European cities, breaking the bank for a getaway is no longer a necessity.
The study suggests that a 3* hotel stay for two nights, with a three-course meal and sightseeing - comes in at an average of £292.27.
The city is the capital of Portugal - Lisbon.
For those wondering the price of a three-course meal alone, paired with a bottle of house wine, the average cost comes around £46.68 for two people.
Of course, these costs don't take into consideration the price of flights.
However, per Skyscanner, the cheapest month to fly in 2025 is October - when you can find return flights from £59 per person (without extras such as luggage).
But obviously, one of the main goals is to escape the British weather, which is probably harder to do in Autumn, hence the cost of flights.

According to the Met Office, 'the city sees a pleasant daily average of 22.6°C in October, and by November this drops further to a comfortable 17.5°C'.
Which, let's be real, is a damn sight better than our typically grey skies.
However, if you're looking for a city break that's 100% accessible, it could be a sign to look elsewhere.
Lisbon is known to be quite hilly, so if you are planning a trip, make sure you have some comfortable shoes packed.
But if you're looking for other destinations for a good value city break, there are others are listed here:
- Riga, Latvia
- Vilnius, Lithuania
- Warsaw, Poland
- Podgorica, Montenegro
- Lille, France
- Gdansk, Poland
- Krakow, Poland
- Porto, Portugal
- Zagreb, Croatia
Porto, also located in Portugal, was revealed to be the second cheapest European city to eat and drink in.
