In the new Netflix film, Jay Kelly, the titular character (played by George Clooney) is presented with cheesecake everywhere he goes; a running gag that stems from an old rider request he can’t quite remember making.
Funnily enough, actress Julia Roberts has actually had an eerily similar experience to the fictional movie character.
The star, who recently appeared in Luca Guadagnino’s After The Hunt, recently admitted that she too is haunted by a food.
In an interview with Deadline, she made reference to the hilarious Jay Kelly joke and said that seeing the character’s aversion to the cheesecake inspired her to take matters into her own hands.

As a result, she sent an email to one member of her team asking them to ‘review any and all riders that pertain to [her] in the world’.
Roberts said that this item that has seemingly plagued her and that she has ‘no idea why’.
“I like them, but not in bulk!” she admitted.
So, what food product has seemingly wormed its way onto the 58-year-old’s rider?

Raw almonds, if you’d believe it or not.

According to the Ticket to Paradise favourite, the nuts appear in her dressing room, either in bag form or poured into a bowl.
“It’s so funny,” she said after seeing Clooney’s character also being bombarded with a food he’s not to interested in.

“And so I just recently sent an email since watching Jay Kelly, since seeing all these almonds, I sent email and said, ’In the new year, one thing I would really like to do is review any and all riders that pertain to me in this world, because I think it might be time for a little reset on the almonds.’"
Last year, Roberts made headlines after revealing her favourite sandwich was one that everyone definitely ‘hates’.
During on an episode of Late Night with Stephen Colbert, the mother-of-three claimed: “The best sandwich of my youth - everyone’s going to hate but then I grew up - was peanut butter and jelly with sour cream and onion potato chips smashed in it.”

When asked about bread preference, she explained: “Wheat, not white, cause it would stick in the gap in my teeth.”
Roberts’ co-stars have also praised her in the past for being a queen in the kitchen.
According to her After The Hunt co-stars Ayo Edebiri and Andrew Garfield, her banana bread is to die for.
In a Variety interview, Guadagnino described the dessert as ‘very beautiful’ before more broadly describing Roberts as ‘an incredible cook’.

Garfield meanwhile told The Independent that ‘everything Julia makes is pretty damn good - from banana bread to a kind of simple salad to roast chicken, once in a while.’
But if you were hoping to get your hands on the banana bread recipe, then you’re fresh out of luck.
"It seems like that's all I cook. It makes me sound like such a not-cool person. It's horrible,” she once declared on an episode of The Graham Norton Show.
Instead of using the opportunity to detail exactly what she puts into the cake, she instead moved on to claim: "I can make anything. I can make so many more things.”
