Alison Hammond has delivered a health update after being taken off air due to ‘feeling a little unwell’ during an episode of ITV’s This Morning.
Last Friday (2 October), the Great British Bake Off icon, 51, was forced to abandon her co-host Dermot O’Leary, 53, on the set of the variety show for the hospital.
The incident took place during a segment about pets, with the BBC Radio 2 host saying: “Alison is feeling a little unwell, so she's just had to duck out. Hopefully she'll be back.”
O’Leary later confirmed that she would not be returning, confirming instead that he would steer the This Morning ship for the remainder of the programme.

A day later, the Birmingham-born star revealed via social media that she’d experienced ‘a little bit’ of a heart palpitation.

Hammond also confirmed that she was undergoing further testing.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday (3 October), she said: “I know you're all worried about me. Honestly, I am fine, first of all.
“I'm getting me old ticker checked out. I had a little bit of a palpitation, and now I'm getting it all checked out, but I think I'm okay.
“I'm hoping it was just a little panic attack or something like that.”
Hammond later said that she returned home from hospital and that she would be getting some rest.
The star, who joined Bake Off on Channel 4 in 2023, has received an outpouring of support from fans, including one who said: “We all love you darling girl you bring joy to our lives, and light up any room ! God bless, keep smiling.”

“Never be embarrassed about panic attacks Alison. I have one everytime I get triggered over small things due to PTSD from trauma from my abusive ex. You got this hope you feel better soon,” replied someone else.
A third said: “You’re too precious to all of as. Wishing you the best health from now on.”
Hammond, along with Noel Fielding, Nigella Lawson, and Paul Hollywood, will return to Channel 4 on Tuesday for the next instalment of the Great British Bake Off.
Earlier this month, Toby Littlewood, who reached the semi-final last year, revealed some behind-the-scenes tidbits, including how gruelling working a full-time job and filming the show can be.
“You're working Monday to Friday, then you go to the hotel on Friday night and you're filming all day Saturday,” he explained.

Despite the heavy schedule, Littlewood said he had a ‘great time’ during his stint on the show.
He also confirmed that he felt like a ‘celebrity’ when his castmates would get stuck into the washing up.
When asked if friends and family have been expecting baked goods upon meeting up with him post-show, he added: “People expect cake, yes.
“I love hosting people. If I know someone's coming round at the weekend, I spend my whole week planning the food. I want them to go away talking about how amazing the food was.”
Tune in to The Great British Bake Off every Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
