Brooklyn Beckham, son of legendary footballer David and legendary pop star Victoria, is a man of many talents.
He spent much of his teens in football academies but unfortunately didn’t make the cut for a professional contract. Handily, he had other irons in the fire, with a modelling career already well underway by the time he turned 18 and various other pursuits keeping him out of trouble.
Among those are photography and cooking, with the latter perhaps being the career path he’d like to settle into. Considering his photography book was pretty roundly pilloried by mean-spirited social media users, we sadly might not see another of those.

In step with his food interests, Brooklyn has launched his own hot sauce company, Cloud23, tapping into a flourishing market whilst gunning for an approach to ingredients that sits right with him.
“Every single part of Cloud23 I designed and it's been like my, I call it my baby as a project,” Beckham told People.
“I'm not a chef, I just, I'm someone, I'm a young English guy who just loves to cook in the kitchen… I just wanted to create the best condiment line with the cleanest ingredients.”
With that in mind, you still might not have riddled out which unusual ice cream topping is regularly poured over Brooklyn’s ice cream. After all, it’s not a particularly common combination.
For those who’ve been reading between the lines: yes, it’s hot sauce.
“I put the Sweet Jalapeño [Hot Sauce] on vanilla ice cream, which I know sounds insane, but I promise you it is really good,” he said.
It’s an interesting blend, that’s for sure, but there’s actually more sense to it than you might expect.
Along with the sweet jalapeños blending into the ice cream’s flavour profile, the spice will pair nicely with the sugar.
Spiciness can often be tempered with sweetness, giving you the tang without so much of the burn. It’s a difficult balance to strike, but the simple flavours and high sweetness of vanilla ice cream should lend themselves well to dampening the spicy hot sauce without drowning it out.
While we’re on the subject of aberrant combinations, if you’re the type to have pineapple on pizza then you might be surprised by how well it goes with some jalapeños. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it!
Along with ice cream, Brooklyn recommends drizzling the Sweet Jalapeño Hot Sauce from Cloud 23 in a cocktail. He told People it’s ‘really good in’ margaritas.
