A coffee shop in Kansas, described online as both ‘demonic’ and ‘a little scary’, has seen an outpouring of community support from both customers and fellow business owners.
Head to Troost Avenue, a major 10.7-mile street in Kansas City, Missouri, and you will discover the Oddly Correct Coffee Roasters, a stunning hospitality business serving delicious coffee with sweet homemade syrups, vegan delights, and hosting block parties and even pour-off competitions.
In recent weeks, the 18-year-old company has been inundated with ‘unexpected traffic’ at its Troost Avenue site after a now-deleted video went viral on TikTok.
In the now-infamous clip, two women were sitting in their car discussing their experience at Oddly Correct.

“It was a little scary driving here,” one girl claimed, as reported by Today. “It felt demonic in there. Everything about it just felt demonic.”

The other girl in the video added: “And weird paintings all over the walls.”
It appeared the pair hadn’t even tried their coffee before vowing they would not return to the establishment.
Oddly Correct co-owner Mike Schroeder informed the publication that he and his team were aware of the video, calling it a ‘wild take’.
“We just kind of joked around, like, ‘Oh man, October’s coming up. We should just really lean into being demonic,’” he explained.
“Obviously, it upsets me just because of where those assumptions are coming from, but like in general, we didn’t really think much of it.”
After the video went viral, fans showed their appreciation for the local business by heading down and ordering so much that the owners limited kitchen opening times.

“Thank you all so much for your support this weekend and this week. Due to massive increased unexpected traffic though, we are low in inventory for our kitchen,” the company wrote via Instagram.
They added that customers heading down over the next couple of weeks should expect ‘increased wait times’, as well as ‘longer lines and longer wait on food and drinks’.
Fans and businesses alike were quick to comment, with Dolce Bakery writing: “So proud to be offering the most demonic beans in town!!”
“Shoutout to the baristas working the front lines!,” joked someone else.
A third commented: “Love this and love yall. & For the people though who also support oddly, I’d just say can we stop playing on the ‘demon’ word for laughs and posting them with that word, ‘I went to a demonic coffee shop and it was great’ ‘trying out KCs demonic cafe’ no, They’re ODDLY CORRECT.

"They don’t need to be known or having more traction from negative people. Just say their name this a good growing moment for them but OC is known for its art, good drinks, and community.”
Schroeder told Today that following the backlash, one of the girls in the video has reached out and apologised.
To support Oddly Correct, head down from 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday – and 8am to 3pm on weekends.
