When it comes to fast-food, it seems like everyone has a restaurant preference depending on the item, with Shake Shack often being hailed for its milkshakes and Slim Chickens being famed for its hand-breaded buttermilk chicken tenders.
Like other products, ask someone where their favourite fries are from, and you’re likely to receive a variety of answers: Five Guys, where workers are instructed to shovel in more for your buck or perhaps White Castle, famous for its crinkle-cut French fries and square sliders.
Other fast-food favourites slinging out piping potatoes include Raising Cane’s, set to launch soon in the UK, Dave’s Hot Chicken, and another underrated gem that you may have forgotten about.
Redditors crown best fast-food chain for fries
Reddit users have recently been debating which restaurant group is serving up the best fast-food fries.
And surprisingly, they are all actually saying the same thing.

“Checkers/rally’s has the best fries, and it’s not even close,” one Redidtor stated.
“I was debating with friends on what fast food has the best fries and it blew my mind no one mentioned Checkers especially if you live in the south you know what I’m talking about.
“Those are the only fries that don’t need ketchup or anything. They have the perfect crisp it’s literally perfection. McDonald’s fries are always a hit or miss only good when fresh and salty. These places I’m about to list never miss.”
And they’re not the only Checkers & Rally’s fan on the thread, with another typing: “Been my favorite for over 25 years. Nothing comes close.”
“Dunking those in a chocolate shake is a next-level move,” claimed someone else, while a fourth commented: “Agree with ya. Without a doubt. Checkers/rallys are the best fries.”

Another typed: “Not saying they aren't tasty, they are. But the main reason they're so good IMO is that they are always made-to-order (at least where I am) and super hot, right out of the fryer when you get them.
“Super crisp on outside and fluffy interior. Most of them are gone by the time I get home,” they added.
Checkers & Rally’s are the same restaurant
It’s time for a history lesson, because in case you didn’t know, Checkers & Rally’s used to be two different companies.
Now, the name you see on the side of the building depends on where you are in the United States.
If you hail from the Southeast, then you’re probably used to getting your fast-food from Checkers.
Whereas those in the Midwest as well as California will likely be more familar with Checkers.
According to the Checkers & Rally’s website, the institution, situated across 20 states and the District of Columbia, is dedicated to delivering ‘bold flavour to fast-food fans across the US!’.

“We’re all about big taste — from hand-seasoned burgers and crispy seasoned fries to creamy milkshakes — all at a value that keeps guests coming back.”
Its specialities include its famous seasoned fries, Mother Cruncher chicken sandwiches, and the ‘Big Buford’ — a two-patty beef burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, mayo, and mustard.
$4 meal deal returns at Checkers & Rally’s
Earlier this month, Checkers & Rally’s announced its new ‘Unbeatable Meal Deal’ which fans can take advantage of right now.
For $4, customers can pick up a wrap or sandwich, with a Value Fry, an eight-piece Chicken Bites, and a small drink. Bargain, right?
The deal includes the new Loaded Tender Wrap, featuring a fry-seasoned chicken tender, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and ranch, in a flour tortilla.
A Spicy Chicken Sandwich or a Classic Burger is also included in the deal, as per Sporked.
“Rally’s continues to have some of the best fast food deals. I just wish they hadn’t removed the option to add cheese to their chili dogs in their Pick 2 and Save deal,” said one Redditor.

A second said: “Four bucks for all that is solid value compared to most fast food deals these days. The Loaded Tender Wrap looks like the standout here since Checkers and Rally’s chicken tenders are usually better than their burger patties.
“Their seasoned fries are the one item that’s hard to beat even at full price so getting them bundled in is a nice bonus. The cheesy potato bites are basically tater tots with cheese which I am not complaining about.”
However, they added: “The only thing id skip from the spread is the basic nuggets since they tend to be the blandest pick. Not bad for a drive thru run when you want cheap food fast.”
