JD Wetherspoon is setting up the beginning of 2026 - with even cheaper beer than it already offers.

After leaving fans furious because the chain was forced to follow a government health ruling on sugary drinks, it looks like it has redeemed itself.

Like many other brands, Spoons is taking part in the January sales, where punters will be able to buy their favourite items, but for a fraction of the price.

While this is usually something you’d expect to see on TV, advertising slashed prices of phones, subscriptions, or even handbags, it now pertains to alcohol and some yummy dishes.

Th cheap and cheerful UK chain will now be offering pints for just 99p.

The chain released a statement, confirming that the sale will impact 600 of its establishments from Friday 2 January to Thursday 15 January (Scotland’s sale starts 3 January).

The website revealed that there are many things that have been included in the sale, such as Coldwater Creek wine, 250ml glasses of Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, rosé, and Merlot for £2.99. A pint of Worthington's beer will also set you back just 99p.

Wetherspoon’s founder and chairman Tim Martin said: "Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to also have a sale in the pubs.

"The range of food and drinks on sale in the pub is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes. We have included a large selection of low-alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. I believe that the January sale will prove popular with customers. As always, staff at the pub will serve customers responsibly."

There’s also Johnnie Walker Black Label and Tanqueray gin (25ml, mixer included) now for £1.99, plus low-alcohol and alcohol-free drinks at £1.69 each including Guinness 0.0, Corona Cero, BrewDog Punk AF, Stella Artois Alcohol Free, Erdinger Isotonic, Thatchers Zero, Kopparberg Alcohol Free, Gordon’s 0.0 pink gin.

There’s also the option to purchase Beck’s Blue and Sanpellegrino Aranciata Rossa for 99p each.

But that's not all.

If you fancy a bit of food on the side of those drinks, you can get an 11’ margarita pizza served with chips or side salad for £4.99 (with soft drink) or £6.52 (with alcoholic drink).

The jacket potatoes are also on offer, and will cost £4.99 (with soft drink) and £6.52 (with alcoholic drink), with the option to add an extra filling for 99p.

Now, Spoons has long been known to provide bargains, but this is a new side of cheapness I’m ready to get on board with.

However, the company wants you to know that the prices for all of the above may vary at its 200 other locations that aren’t included in the sale.

Enjoy.
