Cruise ships are expensive places to be, from the ticket that gets you on to the restaurants you’ll find on-board. With the potential for months at sea on the longest cruises, ships are decked out with plenty of restaurants and bars to ensure passengers have plenty of variety.
Many of these restaurants will take on themes from around the world, and one ship’s Irish-themed bar has been doing the rounds on social media thanks to its unusual grub.
“Asked for Sausage and Chips at an Irish bar on a cruise,” said a Redditor as they shared a photo of their meal.

“I don’t know how they served this with a straight face haha.”
It looks like a pair of tumours laid over a handful of crisps, and it's inexplicably been served in a frying pan.
“Not a very Irish bar tbf,” said one comment.
Another agreed: “I was thinking... this wouldn't happen in Ireland.”
“That bar is definitely not Irish but an imposter who read up on crisp sandwiches on Wikipedia,” someone joked.
Yet another comment said the meal made them feel ‘uncomfortable’.
Now, in the US crisps are known as chips, which might go some way to explaining the bed of crisps but, honestly, what the hell is going on here? Where’s the sauce? Can those buboes masquerading as sausages be cooked all the way through?
How are you supposed to eat it? A knife and fork seems like overkill, but eating it with your hands sounds similarly unholy.
Despite its unappetising appearance, some brave Redditors said they wouldn’t mind it.
“I would be ashamed of myself but I would enjoy eating this,” said one heathen.

“Looks delicious to me,” said another. Different strokes for different blokes but you have to wonder what this person’s average meal looks like.
The cruise ship responsible for the meal wasn’t named and shamed in the post.
Some say it drifts around the seas late at night, bedecked with potato-shaped sausages and ripped open packets of crisps, seeking out lost souls. Perhaps that’s where the sausages come from.
