Aperol Spritz warriors unite: researchers have conducted a boozy experiment into which city is slinging your favourite drink on the cheap. Cue the last-minute holiday plans.
Always the ultimate summer drink, the Aperol Spritz is the ultimate, bittersweet Apertivio made from three parts Prosecco, two parts Aperol, and one part sparkling water, soda, or lemonade.
Before the summer season kicked off, travel money experts eurochange conducted a study into which destination had the cheapest Aperol Spritz on offer.
The project took place between 1 and 31 May, with three bars/restaurants being analysed in each destination based on the top Google search results for ‘the best Aperol Spritz in (insert destination)’.

Averages were concluded and then converted into GBP using the interbank market rate, which was true at the time of conducting the research—so take all the answers with a pinch of salt now that the summer season is in full-swing!

Marmaris, Turkey, is the fifth-cheapest place in the world to grab an Aperol Spritz, with the average price sitting at £5.41, according to the 2026 Aperol Spritz Index.
The price is up 38.4 percent from last year, as the drink originally cost £3.91 a glass.
Missing out on a podium place and coming in at fourth is Burgas, a city on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast, where the cocktail will cost £4.27 per glass on average.
In 2025, an Aperol Spritz would have set you back by just £3.50 (22 percent increase).
If you’re willing to change your travel plans and head 130km up to Varna instead, then you’ll be able to pick up a beaker of the good stuff for €4.75, equivalent to £4.12 as per the index.
Coming in at second place is Palermo, where tourists can purchase glasses of alcohol for an average cost of €4 (£4.37).
However, this is a huge price hike compared to the £2.81 it cost punters in 2025 (55 percent increase).

And it’s good news for anyone travelling to Naples this summer as the average cost of an Aperol Spritz is a criminally low €2 (£1.37), according to the index.
Cheers to that!
