2000s ‘it girl’ and noted champion of the vocal fry, Paris Hilton, has defended herself from a bit of social media backlash after she posted a video of her grease-removing hack.
The video, posted to TikTok, showed Hilton pulling a slice of pizza from a takeaway box before placing the greasy triangle face down on the cardboard.
When she pulls it away, a greasy shadow is left behind. For good measure, she does it again, sparing herself at least a couple of calories in the process.
“This is the content people want,” suggested someone off-camera as Paris tucked into her cardboard-cleansed slice.

Her fans were a little flabbergasted by Paris’s grease-removal method, with comments largely focused on the hygiene implications.
“Girl. The boxes are dirty,” one fan told the 44-year-old.
“On the OUTSIDE of the box?? Girl use the inside it is more absorbent and cleaner,” said another helpful fan offering a simple adjustment.
“God knows where that box was, no thanks,” said another. To be fair to Paris Hilton, she probably hasn’t seen many pizza box storage cupboards or warehouses. Just a guess.
Whilst attending the June 7th premiere for her new film The Trainer at the Tribeca Festival in New York, Hilton commented on her fans’ concerns in a chat with People.
"It was a brand new pizza box," she said. Nobody’s disputing that one, Paris, but ‘new’ doesn’t mean ‘clean’.
“It wasn't from some random place," she continued. "[The pizza box] was for the photo shoot." Good luck wrapping your head around that one.
"It is a good hack," the socialite insisted. To each their own, but it probably helps if your pizza doesn't have any toppings or loosely-applied cheese that will be easily left on top of the dirty, sorry, clean pizza box.
She stars in The Trainer alongside Vito Schabel and Julia Fox, whom you might remember as being Josh Safdie’s muse for ‘un-gat-jaaaaams’ (Uncut Gems).
"I've been friends with Vito for many, many years," Hilton told People. The cast also includes Steven Van Zandt, Beverly D'Angelo, Bella Thorne, Gina Gershon, Stephen Dorff, Lenny Kravitz, and John McEnroe.

"He called me and said, ‘Paris, you are the missing piece to this movie. I would really appreciate so much if you would be a part of it.' So it took a little bit of working on my schedule, but we did it and it's such a fun cast. I'm really just proud of and excited for him."
You can look forward to that one hitting UK theatres on June 13th 2025.
