Celebrities and some of entertainment’s favourite faces gathered in Beverly Hills, California, yesterday (11 January) to celebrate the 83rd Golden Globe Awards - with Jessie Buckley, Timothée Chalamet, and Ryan Coogler's Sinners being honoured.

The annual awards ceremony, which serves as an unofficial warm-up to the Academy Awards in March, was hosted by American comedian Nikki Glaser at the Beverly Hills Hotel. It saw the likes of Teyana Taylor, Seth Rogan, and Rose Byrne also walking away with gongs.

Aside from speeches and eyebrow-raising fashion choices, the internet has been awash with talk about what food was served at the event.

The curiosity comes off the back of the viral ‘snack plate’ which was served up at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards.

People joked that the dish served up at the latter was ‘giving Fyre Fest’, with Hollywood icons being forced to eat grapes, crackers, and mozzarella balls all night long.

The good news is that Golden Globes attendees weren’t subjected to measly morsels.

That’s because Nobu sushi was on the cards for the third time in a row, with New York Times writer Kyle Buchanan revealing all about the ‘bold’ menu.

Buchanan, who was a hit on X after sharing a photograph of his plate at the Critics Choice Awards, posted an image with the caption: “Hello from the Golden Globes and our dinner, this reliably tasty array of Nobu sushi.”

The tray featured seven different items, including a boujee caviar cup, lobster salad with spicy lemon dressing, and three different types of nigiri, each brushed with soy.

Raw yellowtail was served with jalapeño, and a stunning side of Nobu’s signature miso black cod also featured.

The internet is divided over the fishy feast provided by Nobu, which is spearheaded by world-renowned chef, Nobuyuki Matsuhisa.

One X user replied to Buchanan’s photo: “Looks yummy but this would not fill me up.”

“This is all they let you eat FOR HOURS? Like the red carpet is still happening, it’s a very long ceremony, not even some breadsticks so you don’t spend hours just watching and clapping?” replied someone else.

A third critic responded: “Bold choice as the only menu option for 1500 people. I hope the ones not into raw fish brought a sandwich.”

Others have been praising the awards show offering, with another X user typing: “I’m all in. Nobu does sushi right.”

“Look so YUMMY,” a second commented “Pfff the dream,” echoed a third fan.

Buchanan later followed up his now-viral tweet, revealing there was more food behind the scenes for those whose tray failed to make a dent.

“There’s an alcove next to the ballroom with even more sushi and snacks for Golden Globe attendees who want a little extra,” he said.

The post was accompanied by three photographs showing off what was on offer, including more yellowfin and fresh nigiri.

According to the Daily Mail, the sushi was washed down with bottles of Moët & Chandon champagne, and Saratoga spring water.

For dessert, a cake featuring white chocolate mousse, pistachio sponge and ceremonial matcha, topped off with a Golden Nobu coin, was available, the outlet reported.
