Gwyneth Paltrow sparks debate with topless cooking video

Gwyneth Paltrow’s fame has shifted somewhat in recent years. Once almost solely famous for her acting chops, with notables turns in Seven, Shallow Hal, Iron Man, Emma, and Shakespeare in Love – for which she won the Oscar for Best Actress – she’s now firmly a name in the wellness space.

Her Goop brand has made headlines for, among other things, bizarre vaginal eggs, vagina-scented candles, and a few other things. Goop has also been criticised by health professionals previously for making what they say are unsubstantiated health claims, such as the importance of vaginal steaming and the use of previously mentioned vaginal eggs.

The Hollywood actress and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin were ridiculed for describing their parting of ways as a “conscious uncoupling” when they broke up in 2014 after a decade of marriage. She remarried and tied the knot with TV producer Brad Falchuk in September 2018, and her 'boyfriend breakfasts' on Instagram that she whips up for Falchuk have gained popularity.

So it's no surprise she's made headlines again thanks to a cooking video she shared on Instagram.

For the first few seconds of the clip, Paltrow has her naked back to the camera while she stands over a hob and prepares a ‘boyfriend breakfast’ in the caption.

The 52-year-old takes us on a cooking journey as she whips up a ‘Tuscan inspired high protein #boyfriendbreakfast skillet with sausage from the local butcher, white beans, spinach, cherry tomatoes and of course eggs', featuring beans cooked from scratch. .

The clip is cut together with shots of a gorgeous villa in what we might presume to be Tuscany, Italy, and it looks like a hell of a place to whip your kit off, prep a cooked breakfast with the help of a Goop egg timer, and chill in straight Gaia vibes while you wait to see if another Iron Man movie is on the cards.

Comments on the post were, as you might imagine, were varied.

“Lil dangerous to be cooking with no shirt on, wow. This is rich people faking life,” said one cynical Paltrow fan.

“No time to put on a shirt over an open flame but...time to make beans from raw. I don't relate to this,” said another.

“Um but why no shirt in the beginning?” was one pertinent question. “What does that have to do with the rest of the reel ? What am I missing?”

Another chimed: “Anything for attention.”

To be fair to Gwyneth, it does look like a pretty tasty meal.

“Can I be your boyfriend?” asked fellow actress Jennifer Garner via her own Instagram page.

“Looking fantastic!” said another positive comment. “And love the way you break the eggs with one hand.”
