Biohacker Bryan Johnson has live tweeted his magic mushroom trip, and it’s a ride.

Johnson, who is famously known for his perfect diet and bid to reverse his age, has come out with something a little different than usual.

Unlike his usual posts detailing the ins and outs of his health, strict eating habits and serious supplement commitment, this time Johnson decided to take a dose of magic mushrooms - all for the sake of 'education', of course.

As he came out of the experience, he wrote on X: “I did this under medical supervision, in a legal setting, and with a professional facilitator. This post is for educational purposes. If you're curious for yourself, speak with your doctor.”

Of course, magic mushrooms are mostly illegal in the US, UK and many other countries, however, sometimes, you can use them as part of a medical treatment plan or a paid-for experience.

With that in mind, this definitely isn't one to try at home...

Johnson began by explaining that he had taken ‘4.67 grams of magic mushrooms, 24.9 mg of psilocybin’, which are supposedly the dosages commonly used in clinical trials.

With several live posts - shared by 'co-founder' Kate Tolo - showing his water fascination, how much he slept, how his salad tasted and his inner thinking, it's safe to say that it was an eventful time.

"Yes, this trip changed me," Johnson said after being given his phone back.

"Probably not as you’d expect. People assume I am fearful of death. I’m not. In my darkest days of depression, I reconciled with death.

"Need a few days to collect my thoughts. Will share more soon."

He added: "Also much love to all of you. It weirdly feels like my consciousness is deeply intertwined with yours. Feels like family. You’re a**holes and terrible. You’re also…nah, just mostly a**holes and terrible. Still love you all anyways."

Reflecting fully not long afterwards, Johnson gave a 'report' on the experiment: “First, the experience was exhilarating. Positive in every way. I felt like a kid finding and exploring a new playground,” he shared. “My sensory perception was dialed up to levels I must have felt as a kid but have been dulled with time. I experienced sense of touch with awe. Feeling my fingers rub together felt novel.”

Johnson explained that even the feel of his skin on a quilt, moving his body in different ways and doing things like breathing deeply, sitting still, holding a glass of water and being unaware of his heart rate for the first time were all deeply pleasant to feel.

“With this heightened sense of sensory perception, it felt like my consciousness was dialed up to 10/10,” he shared in his post, noting that it 'felt like mushrooms restored my perception to youthful levels, returning them to factory settings and dissolving my aged numbness’.

"Once my senses were reset, my attention sifted from the texture of existence to existence itself," Johnson continued, sharing some of the revelations he experienced, including that people will soon wake up from accepting death, that people do not want to be overweight and body positivity isn’t real, as well as talking about Ozempic usage, how we work as a society, and so much more.

Pulling up historical ages, Johnson shared that we are now in a time that’s soon to change, but he didn’t reveal what he believes the change will be.

He also talked about AI and how it could be a ‘friend or foe’, but the results are not yet determined.

All in all, it seemed like a very interesting trip, but it’s not something a person should aim to try without express permission from a doctor, to do it in a legal area, and to have a medical professional with you at all times.

Of course, mushrooms can be dangerous, so we don’t recommend recreating Johnson’s trip.
