Popeyes and Hot Ones team up for 'first of its kind' menu collab that's 'unapologetically fiery'

Great news for people who love to crank up the heat

Fans of spicy food have a lot to look forward to, or dread, as Popeyes has announced that it has teamed up with Hot Ones.

The hugely popular YouTube series puts celebrity guests on the spot, eating a series of increasingly spicy hot wings.

As the interviews progress, the only thing making the celebrity guests sweat more than the spice is the cutting and well-researched questions from host Sean Evans.

Of course, you can't run a hugely successful show about hot wings without releasing your own line of hot sauces, and many of the sauces featured on the show are available to buy, if you dare.

But now fans of the podcast don't have to splash out on hot sauces to get a taste of the searing line-up, with Hot Ones now teaming up with iconic chicken joint Popeyes.

The fast food chain is releasing four products in collaboration with Hot Ones, ranging from the relatively mild up to 'The Last Dab'.

Popeyes' Vice President of Culinary Innovation, Amy Alarcon, told Food & Wine: “Together, we crafted a menu that mirrors the Hot Ones journey.

“This collaboration is more than just food. It’s an experience that sits at the intersection of flavor, fire, and pop culture.”

Fans can treat themselves to four different chicken-based dishes featuring sauces from the show's line-up.

These begin with mild(er) but flavourful Sizzlin' Sriracha Dippers, as well as the Smokin' Rojo Sandwich, Darin' Dab Ghost Wings, and of course The Last Dab.

And if you opt for The Last Dab, you even get a little sachet of the infamous sauce so that you can recreate the Hot Ones tradition of adding a little extra to that final, pungent wing.

The limited edition menu is now available in US restaurants after launching on 15 September.

Bart LaCount, Chief Marketing Officer at Popeyes, said: "This limited-time menu is more than a product launch, it's a cultural moment. By bringing the viral spice challenge straight to our guests' tables, we're blurring the line between entertainment and food."

The show features a number of eye-watering sauces, with the infamous Last Dab being the final boss sauce met by celebrities which clocks in at a whopping 2.693 million Scoville Heat Units (SHU).

For context, sriracha is around 1,000 SHU. Have the milk ready.

But even the Last Dab may not be the most feared sauce to have menaced the Hot Ones lineup.

Many guests find themselves discovering a new level of pain when they try sauces from Da Bomb - Beyond Insanity, a sauce so unpleasant it caused cool-as-a-cucumber Jeff Goldblum to momentarily lose his composure, grimacing as he called the sauce 'alarming'.

Gordon Ramsey was slightly less composed, exclaiming as he dabbed his eyes: "Sh*t. I'm now f**king crying over a f**king wing," while basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal was reduced to tears by the heat.
