Despite having a reliable spine running through the middle of its menu, McDonald’s is always cooking up new ways to tempt us back to the golden arches.
Stalwart heavyweights like the Big Mac, quarter-pounder, McNuggets, Happy Meals, and the hot apple pie are practically immutable, but keeping things fresh has long been McDonald’s strategy with its menu shake-ups throughout the year.

We’ve just had a fresh round of incomers and outgoers, with the menu currently graced by the Steakhouse Stack, Biscoff McFlurry, and katsu wraps, among others, but Ronald and co aren’t resting on their laurels.
After a successful stint in Canada, the Big Arch is making its way across the rest of the world. This brand-new burger, complete with its own sauce made with ketchup, mustard, and pickle juice, will hit the UK from June 18th.
Complete with two 100% British and Irish beef patties, cheddar cheese slices, crispy onions, lettuce, gherkins, and the aforementioned sauce, McDonald’s reckons it’s a ‘future icon’ that’s ‘built for serious hunger’.
It’s a pretty hefty burger, towering inside a sesame seed bun, and Maccies promises that ‘every layer is crafted for maximum flavour and total satisfaction’.
“A new iconic burger needs an equally iconic sauce, and we’ve taken it up a notch with the Big Arch,” said Thomas O’Neill, Head of Menu at McDonald’s UK&I, in a press release.
“This isn’t just about size, it’s about flavour. With double layers of beef, crispy onions, and the hero of the build, our signature sauce, every bite is crafted to hit the spot to satisfy serious McDonald’s hunger. Big, bold, and packed with serious deliciousness.”
If you need something to tide yourself over until release day, McDonald’s has simultaneously announced that it will available on Deliveroo Plus between June 2nd and 15th 2025. That means Deliveroo Plus customers can get a free six-piece of McNuggets when they spend £15.
Between June 2nd and 8th, you can also spend £10 on McDelivery to get a free Breakfast Wrap. From 11am daily, you can also get a free Big Mac when you spend £15.
When it drops on June 18th, the Big Arch will be priced at £7.99 on its own, with medium meals priced at £9.99.
Having had a test run in Canada, it’s already got plenty of glowing reviews online.
“It always left me satisfied and smiling,” said one Redditor.
“I'm visiting Canada and just had it,” reported another. “I thought it tasted very good. It was like an upgraded Big Mac and I found the portion of meat, cheese, sauce, and bread perfect. The meat was juicy and big and not thin like the Big Mac. The Big Mac for me tastes mostly of bread, lettuce, and sauce since the meat is so thin. I can't wait for it to come to the US.”
