Anne, Princess Royal, religiously follows the same mealtime ritual every day, and her food of choice has previously been linked to supporting gut and heart health as well as improving digestion and fighting off illnesses.
Princess Anne, the eldest of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s two children, primarily resides at Gatcombe Park, a countryside retreat she shares with her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.
The historic manor, purchased by the royal in 1975 by her mother, is where the 75-year-old is thought to sit down for breakfast each day.
According to a report by former royal chef Darren McGrady, Princess Anne is said to start off her day with a certain fruit.

McGrady, who recently said that King Charles III would not have been too impressed by the dessert he was served by Melania Trump during his recent US state visit, previously served as a personal chef to: Elizabeth, Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and Diana, Princess of Wales, and her two sons, William, now Prince of Wales, and Harry, now Duke of Sussex.
In an interview with Today, the expert claimed that Anne would tuck into an overripe banana every morning.
“Princess Anne almost always preferred the bananas almost black - over ripe - because they digested easier,” he claimed.
According to experts at Fresh Approach Nutrition, riper bananas, with their softer texture and slightly higher sugar and water content, can help support bowel regularity.

Moreover, the resistant starch and fructooligosaccharides (FOS) in bananas encourage the growth of beneficial bacteria that support gut health.
Other benefits of eating bananas in general include muscle support, restoring energy, and preventing muscle cramps. They are also a good source of vitamin C.
According to McGrady, it’s a royal tradition for royals to eat with cutlery, rather than their hands.
So, Princess Anne will have to eat her overripe bananas with a knife and fork.
Apparently she also cuts the fruit in a particular way, the expert previously revealed.
"First, the ends of the banana are cut off. Then the banana peel is sliced down the middle from end to end so the unpeeled fruit can be opened.
“The fruit is sliced into circles and eaten with a fork,” he added.
According to reports, the mother-of-two enjoys eating kippers at breakfast.

Her love of the salty fish was previously revealed by a note she sent to Fortune Kippers, a 140-year-old company based in Whitby, Yorkshire.
The company’s website revealed: "Members of the Royal Family have also been known to enjoy our kippers, and HRH Princess Anne has written to Barry and Derek telling them how much she enjoys their kippers."
And it isn’t just breakfast habits that the royal has, as chef Michael Mercer, who cooked for both the Princess Royal and the Duchess of Edinburgh, one found out.
In an interview with Hello! Magazine, the culinary whizz revealed that Anne does not eat lunch.
He claimed that he once prepared a ‘full banquet’ for her afternoon sup, only for her to thank him and leave the food where it was.
However, he alleged that her security detail made light work of the lavish feast.
