Brits are snapping up a Cadbury Heroes Black Friday deal, despite a controversial new addition.

The surprise announcement has sparked uproar online, with many claiming the latest addition was 'so overrated'.

So, which chocolate has been axed?

Eclair fans, you'll be disappointed to learn that the chewy chocolate will be replaced by the divisive Flake in select paper boxes.

It will join the following classics: Dairy Milk, Fudge, Dairy Milk Caramel, Twirl, Double Decker, Crunchie, and Wispa.

It's the first time in history that the Flake has been introduced to Cadbury's Heroes, after launching in 1999.

So, where can you still get your hands on the original box before Christmas? Find out everything you need to know below.

What are people saying about the Cadbury's new Heroes lineup?

It seems many of us don't like change, as the news hasn't gone down too well with Cadbury fans online.

One customer shared on X, "Oh well. I won't be buying a tub this Christmas. The Flake is so overrated.

"It is no accident that most people only eat one when it is sticking at the top of a Mr Whippy."

Another said, "I'm actually devastated at this news. They'd be the first chocolate of choice for me. I may start a petition."

A third simply wrote: "A true sign of societal decay."

Meanwhile, there are some happy shoppers. One Flake fan said, "I might be getting old, but a Flake would be a bit easier to eat... Not devastated by this!"

Another agreed, adding: "Apparently they have taken the Cadbury’s Eclair out of Heroes and replaced it with Flake? Is this fake news? I've dreamt about this day."

For those of you who aren't keen on change, you can still get hold of the original Cadbury Heroes box on Amazon.

At the time of writing, it's been reduced from £10.33 to £9.48 here.

When will Flakes be added to Cadbury's Heroes?

The Flake has been added to Cadbury's Heroes as of October 2025, but they will only appear in the new paper boxes.

In a bid to cut down on plastic, Cadbury is currently trialling new paper tubs in select stores, and these are reportedly the only boxes that have swapped Eclairs for Flakes.

The change is for a limited time only. For those of you desperate for an Eclair, see you at the Amazon checkout.
