If you stand on the coast at Land’s End on a clear night, facing west across the Atlantic, you might just catch a glimpse of the jubilation happening over yonder.
For the best part of a decade, our friends in America have been left bereft while we in the UK and Canada live in blissful ignorance that life could be so much worse.
We’re talking, of course, about the fact you can’t get a Snack Wrap at a McDonald’s in the US. A choice of grilled or crispy chicken breast, some lettuce, shredded cheddar jack cheese, some Monterey Jack cheese for good measure, and a choice of ranch, honey mustard or salsa roja for your sauce, all wrapped in a soft tortilla.

Ideal for curbing some hunger cravings, these delicious little wraps are an underrated gem on British and Canadian Maccies menus.
But like Van Gogh, maybe the Snack Wrap can only be truly appreciated once it’s gone. As our American cousins have discovered, their absence certainly makes the heart grow fonder.
Rumblings have been gathering pace in recent months, however, that the prodigal son is on its way back to US menus.
A tease in December 2024 got American chops salivating and social media chattering, then in April came an X post from Ronald and co that read: “snack wraps 0x.14.2025”.
May 14th then came and went, and June 14th is pretty close at the time of writing. Could this be the month?
Alas, no. Nor does the promised 14th really mean anything. McDonald’s has confirmed, via an Instagram post, that the Snack Wrap is returning on July 10th 2025: “got emotional typing this. snack wrap is back 07.10.25”.
It was a bit of a bait and switch, but at least there’s some genuine confirmation.
To commemorate the much-desired return of the Snack Wrap, McDonald’s has launched snackwrapfiles.com to dive into the details about the missing menu item that has become such a social media darling over the last few years.
“We dropped snackwrapfiles.com to highlight the bond fans have with the Snack Wrap. We’re delivering engaging, iconic and never-before-seen content — continuously updated leading up to the official return of the Snack Wrap,” said McDonald’s on its website.

The sudden update and website launch is hot on the heels of a competitor’s attempts to hijack the hype. Popeye’s, another fast food chain, just launched its own Chicken Wrap featuring much of the same ingredients plus some gherkins for good measure.
“Glad we could make that happen,” commented the official Popeyes Instagram account teased on McDonald’s Instagram post. Cheeky blighters, eh?
