In these divided times, it’s important to spare some compassion now and then.
With that in mind, spare a thought for our friends across the Atlantic: the Snack Wrap has been missing from US McDonald’s menu for a decade.
Currently only available in the UK and Canada, the Snack Wrap is made with a chunk of 100% chicken breast that comes either crispy or grilled, lettuce, cheddar Jack cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, and a sauce selected from ranch, honey mustard, or salsa roja. And, of course, it’s all bound up in a soft flour tortilla.

Despite the online clamour for them to return, American fast food fans are still waiting for the Chosen One’s return.
The wait could soon be over, however, with the McDonald’s X account tweeting: “snack wraps 0x.14.2025” on April 15th 2025. May 14th has come and gone without Snack Wraps re-entering the fray, and so social media sleuths have set about trying to figure out to which 14th the fast food giant was alluding.
Redditors have been busy chatting about it, with optimism tempered by some cynicism in the ranks.
“I can't wait for them to be far too expensive to justify getting them anymore,” said one Reddit user.

“They were good when they were made with a Chicken Select,” said another. “They were also $1. Then they started producing smaller chicken strips for the Snack Wrap and the price tripled. They'll never be as good as that first year.”
In amongst the pessimism over how Snack Wraps might return were many more users theorising over the relaunch date.
“May, the fourteenth is a Wednesday, probable. June the fourteenth is a Saturday, doubtful. July, the fourteenth is a Monday, sounds like a good time to release a new item,” suggested one Redditor who reckons the day of the week is the essential factor to consider.

“It's July, I work for McDonald's, they revealed the date on the employee app,” claimed one user.
“They’re coming in July and leaving early August,” said another uncorroborated suggestion.
“It’s not July. I work at McDonald’s corporate and can confirm,” countered another.
As far as insights go, these are a bit ‘My uncle works at Nintendo’ aren’t they?
