Delivery driver confused by 'final meal' order received from death row

As far as delivery instructions go, these were pretty odd.

You’ll encounter all walks of life if you work as a delivery driver, making drops at both the most squalid and most opulent gaffs in town.

Finding the right place and getting in can be a real battle, but one delivery driver’s drop location was considerably more secure than the average.

The Instacart-driving TikToker shared how they realised mid-job that they were making a drop to a prison for people condemned to death, potentially delivering someone’s last meal.

Getting buzzed into a penitentiary holding death row inmates must be a nerve-wracking experience, but Chrishalea Farley was undeterred.

In her video, she showed a message on her phone screen that appeared to show an order for a prison, which read: "See Chaplain Miller for death row inmate [NAME]."

Following the delivery instructions, she arrived at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification State Prison where she was told to ask for 'Chaplain Miller'.

"My initial reaction after reading the delivery information [was] I thought I was actually delivering a last meal to an inmate,” Farley said in a TikTok.

Upon arrival, she approached the guards to explain why she was there.

"I read it off and gave them the name, and I told them the person that they told me to contact, which was Chaplain Miller,” she explained.

The guards, however, refused entry to the chicken wings meal.

"I ain't gonna lie, that man had me feeling some type of way, cause I'm thinking I'm fixing to deliver his last meal before they execute him," Farley said.

She continued: "Once they [saw] it, they just told me that they [couldn’t] receive that particular order.

"The wings were kept, and me and my kids enjoyed a nice meal that evening.

"Never am I laughing at the [inmate's] situation, as I wish that on no one, but the humour of it all just kept me laughing."

Commenters shared their thoughts on the weird situation, noting that the order may have been placed on a contraband phone.

"Now they bout to do a shake down cause sir how you ordered that food without a phone?" they said.

Another added: "Man they coulda let him have that.”

"How did he order?” questioned another. “Whose card did he use? I need answers."

You have to admire this show of the human spirit’s indomitability, even if the order was always doomed to fail.
