Man completes 2,000 pints in 200 days challenge

Jon May shared his journey to 2,000 pints on TikTok.

Social media has pulled back the curtain on no end of incredible human feats. From the Hardest Geezer running the length of Africa to Jasmin Paris becoming the first woman to complete the Barkley Marathons, we’re living in a remarkable era of human endurance.

Alongside those Brits we’ve got another endurance hero to discuss: Jon May, or @j0nmay on TikTok.

Back in 2023, Jon completed a challenge that we must preface by saying we absolutely do not condone or recommend.

Jon set himself the challenge of drinking 2,000 pints in 200 days, averaging 10 pints a day. The NHS recommends a weekly limit of 14 units spread across at least three days. Seeing as a pint contains around 2.3 units of alcohol, Jon was going against NHS advice on every one of these 200 days.

Always drink responsibly. If you need support or advice about your drinking, head to Drinkaware for a range of useful resources.

The challenge drew plenty of interest.

On the final day he was up bright and early and raring to get down the pub for the final nine pints required and, in October 2023, he finished the job with his 2,000th pint.

"We might have f**ked up the audio on the 2000th pint, but that's how we roll,” he said at the time. “We don't give a f**k.” His liver might, of course.

Jon told LadBible that a major win from the challenge was in making content creation a full-time job through it.

“It’s definitely improved my life, instead of getting up and having to do a normal job, like going to Tesco, I can choose when I work, what hours I work,” he said.

“It also means I can volunteer a lot more and help some worthwhile causes.”

He continued: “At the beginning, yes [I thought about quitting].

“Currently I’ve got about 108,000 followers because of it, so I’ve got people telling me ‘When is the video, when is the video?’

“So, that helps.” As of April 2025, Jon has amassed 138,700 TikTok followers.

“But at the beginning, I didn’t have that so there was a point of like ‘is this really worth it?’

“Has it been worth it – yeah, it has been worth it, definitely.

“I’ve helped quite a lot of pubs [too].”

Despite knocking back 2,000 pints in just 200 days, Jon wasn’t about to put his liver to rest immediately.

“I’m going to the Joshua [Buatsi] fight on Saturday, so I won’t be off the beers then, but on the Sunday I will be. I’ll have like a week off,” he said.

“But then I’ll be back at it, I’m going to do every city in the UK afterwards.

“I’m going to travel to all of these cities and start reviewing some of the pubs and the area, stuff like that.”

In 2024, Jon embarked on a mission to have a pint at every Wetherspoons in the UK, and it seems he’s still working his way through them at the time of writing.

“Aged 10 years over the last week, looking great Jon!” said one commenter. Considering how many pints he’s putting away, Jon could certainly be looking worse.
