Every so often, TikTok delivers something you might actually want to try.
Put down the beef-only diet, take a break from being told to have nightmares over ingredients lists, tear your eyes away from someone telling you how to live your life from the front seat of the car – why is it always the front seat of their car? – and prepare yourself for the drink of the summer.
It’s a spin on an old classic, so there’s a good chance you’ve already got a taste for what 2025’s hottest summer drink has to offer. We’re talking, of course, about the Spicy Sauvy B.

Having first hit the reels in April, the Spicy Sauvy B has taken TikTok by storm. It’s simple to make and has a distinctive, fiery flavour thanks to the jalapeños.
TikTokers like @lovebugatx have already scored over a million views with their reels on the bevvy, calling it a ‘game-changer’ that’s easy on the wallet and fun on the tastebuds.
For those of us who love an Aperol Spritz but hate coughing up for one, it’s worth seeing if this new trend can uproot the nuclear-orange drink that’s become a go-to over the past couple of years.

It’s been compared to a spicy margarita, albeit much cheaper and easier to make, and it gives the white wine a distinctive kick that brings it closer to the sensation of red wine and all its tannins.
So, how do you make it?
- Get a jalapeño and slice it thinly, removing the seeds if you want to spare yourself some excess spiciness;
- Freeze the sliced jalapeño for a couple of hours;
- Pour yourself a glass of sauvignon blanc – chilled, of course;
- Add somewhere between three and 10 slices of frozen jalapeño, depending on how spicy you want that Sauvy B.
It’s really that simple. We recommend using fresh and green jalapeños rather than the pickled ones as their sharpness pairs well with the wine’s acidity.
You might think it’s the discovery of a lunatic short on mixers and high on their own hype, but there’s a good reason why this drink works so well.

Both the wine and the peppers are full of pyrazines which give them their herby, fresh flavours. They have different flavour profiles, of course, but their shared pyrazines mean the crisp fruitiness of the wine pairs even more effectively with the jalapeños spicy bite.
Whether it’s something your local pub will make for you is another matter although, if this remarkably delicious flavour and growing trend is anything to go by, you could expect to see jars of jalapeños on a bar near you.
